CALLING ALL MEN
I’m always excited when natural non-chemical solutions come my way! This is another one that I must share, specifically geared toward MEN and those that love them. During a recent routine visit with our doctor, the benefits of Saw Palmetto mentioned to my husband. Being unfamiliar with this supplement, I eagerly couldn’t wait to get home to start the journey of researching this natural benefits.
HISTORY/BACKGROUND As men mature, an enlarged prostate is sometimes a natural process, occurring with most cases between the ages of 45 and 50 years old. Saw Palmetto (Serenoa repens/Sabal serrulata) is a palm-like plant with berries. The berries were a staple food and medicine for the Native Americans of the southeastern United States. In the early 1900s, men used the berries to treat urinary tract problems, as well as to increase sperm production and even boost libido. Today, the primary use of Saw Palmetto is to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), a non-cancerous enlargement of the prostate gland. Saw Palmetto has been used as an acceptable medical treatment for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) in New Zealand, France, Austria, Italy, France, Spain and other European countries. Typical symptom of BPH include difficulty starting urination, weak urinary stream, frequent urination, dribbling after urination, and waking up several times a night to urinate. Saw Palmetto doesn’t shrink the overall size of the prostate, but it seems to shrink the inner lining that puts press on the tubes that carry urine.
In addition, Saw Palmetto has been known as a hair loss remedy in men due to it balancing testosterone level due to the loss of DHT (dihydrotestosterone) an enzyme that convert male hormone.
CONCLUSION
I am a passionate deliverer of information that lends itself to a natural way of living. So now you decide. At least I hope we can agree it’s worth further research. During this research, I have learned and know more about the male anatomy than I ever want to know. I think I learned as much as I did taking Anatomy I and II. I care that much about our men!!!!
